Previous Work

The Demand-Side Management (DSM) Programme is a co-operative energy technology programme within the framework of the International Energy Agency (IEA). The IEA DSM Programme works to develop and promote tools and information on demand-side management and energy efficiency. As a result of this collaborative work between countries in Asia, Europe and North America, the programme has created a ‘tool box’ of resources and information for governments, utilities and energy companies to help them incorporate DSM measures in their energy policies and activities.

IEADSM required a facelift. Their branding was dated and their website was cumbersome to use and maintain. I Developed a re-branding package for them including a new logo, all new templates for their newsletters, publications, promotional material and presentations as well as designing a custom Wordpress website.
The website utilises HTML5 and CSS3 to deliver a much more modern, responsive and attractive face to their audience, and the well documented Wordpress back-end allows them to update and maintain their content much more effectively.

Apotex Dashboard

The Apotex Dashboard is a data analytics tool created for the generic drug manufacturer Apotex. The project required both a website for pharmacists and an iPad app for Apotex reps to use to track sales and generic conversion rates. The site had to be attractive, intuitive to use and scalable to a wide range of screen sizes, while maintaining compatibility with outdated non-standards-compliant browsers.

Guardians of the Bays

Guardians of the Bays are a citizens action group fighting to protect Wellington's south coast. They needed a platform to spread their message to a wider audience. The solution is a responsive, mobile-friendly Wordpress site with blogging features, members subscriptions an events calendar and social media integration to allow them to spread the word and keep interested parties up to date.

Loyalty One

LoyaltyOne ( is a customer loyalty system for pharmacies, developed for desktop computers and ipad. The associated cardholder site ( is designed primarily for mobile, to allow customers to receive communications from the pharmacy, check their points statement and scan their phones directly rather than having to carry a membership card.

Circle-Eight Communications

Circle-Eight Communications is a back-end web development and web-hosting company specialising in New Zealand and Japanese clients.
Their old site was functional but visually stale, and not doing them any favours. As part of a brand-overhaul performed by Weberweb, they needed a modern site, which while visually striking maintained a sense of professionalism and trustworthiness in order to help attract more high-end clientèle.

My name is Karl Weber, and I'm passionate about good design and usability. Clean design is subtly beautiful without getting in the way of a user's needs. Most people only notice when things don't work as expected, but when a product has been properly thought out and implemented so that it is beautiful, intuitive and just works it's a joy to use and work with.
I founded weberweb in 2014 to pursue my dream of working full-time as a freelance designer. Prior to that I had been working as a UX Designer for Intellipharm since 2010 designing and building web-interfaces for a range of tools used by pharmacies and international drug companies, as well as pursuing a variety of freelance projects in my spare time since 2006.
I'm also a keen musician, I love to write new music and play guitar for the band After Earth (for whom I also design album art, posters and merchandise).
